Open fronted nest boxes

A vert productive day today finishing off 20 open fronted nest boxes in order to hopefully attract a few pairs of Spotted Flycatchers next Spring. Two coats of paint finished off with a double skinned felt roof. These should hopefully last a few years.

So this afternoon I was accompanied by Mr faithful k9 companion Eira. We managed to fit and paint on numbers to 50 nest boxes in total. I do this at this time of year because the site is accessible. As soon as the winter sets in its impossible to get me 4x4 anywhere near. Hopefully with a volunteer I shall return to erect another 30 to 50 small nest boxes along with a Little Owl and Barn Owl nest box.
