I'd like to pay tribute to Alex Powell (newinn resident) If ever I put out a call for volunteers to help with my conservation project Alex is always there. Come wind, rain, snow or shine nothing will prevent him from volunteering for my cause. Last weekend we cleaned out about 100 nest boxes and we did the same this morning. Without Alex it would not be possible for my project to be the success it has become so a fitting tribute to a great fella 👏👏👏
We also checked on a barn owl nest box that was fitted last winter and to my surprise a pair of barn owls seem to be using this nest box. The evidence was a big pile of fresh owl pellets and poo directly underneath the nest box. Hopefully we will have a family of owls come spring.
